Drove the new CLA35 yesterday. Its a quick little bugger. My favorite thing driving it around was the little punch youd feel in your back when you make an aggressive upshift with the new DCT it has.

Overall even the base CLA250 is a much nicer car than the outgoing generation in terms of handling and ride quality. I don’t expect to see too many of these 35s around, but I’m a big fan already

I’m intrigued by these A35 cars, but the one knock against them is they have a relatively basic awd system with open front and rear diffs. The competing M35i BMWs & JCW Minis have the same basic layout and power level as the A35s but add a front eLSD. Mercedes is saving their torque vectoring rear diff for the A45 cars.

Yeah it’s not the most advanced car, but I think this one was specced at like 46k and for the inside tech and speed and looks it’s a pretty solid package I think.

I’m still young enough to be  stick shift master race so while fun I don’t think I’d buy one haha

Did they improve interior space over the outgoing generation? The CLAs have always been so TINY on the inside.

Up front theres definitely more space as the new model is a few inches wider. In the backseat though I’d say its not very good for carrying adults regularly. If you have kids though they’d be perfectly happy as theres plenty of leg space, just not much headroom if you’re tall.
